Happy Birthday Audrey!

We celebrated Audrey's 2nd birthday today with a Teddy Bear Princess Cake!

As is typical, I was up till 1:45 the night before baking, and baking, and baking (I had to make 3 cakes because I kept messing up) and then decorating of course.

But it was worth it. Just look at that face. Happy Birthday sweet girl!

Over the Hill

My niece called me the other day and asked me to do some birthday cookies for her dad, who is turning 40 on Sunday. These cupcakes were a lot of fun. The little sugar crystals were so easy to work with and really made the cookies sparkle.

I used a food coloring marker to write the little gift tag cookie. It is so cool to be able to actually write on the cookie, but it was surprisingly hard to make it look neat. This was my third try. I wonder if they make ones with finer tips?

Happy Birthday Mike!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I had some extra dough and frosting in the fridge, so I decided to make some more Valentine's cookies with the kiddos today.

Oh, and I let them frost a couple too. You should have seen my kitchen floor.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Valentine's cookies

I never thought I would be a blogger. I feel uncomfortable putting my thoughts out there for everyone to read. Not that I think there is anything wrong with doing it- I love reading other peoples thoughts. I just tend to think too much about what other people think of my thoughts, and I don't need that kind of stress in my life. But this is not a blog about my thoughts, it's about cookies! That I can do. So, without further ado, here is my first official post about cookies. It will be short and sweet.

I made some Valentine's cookies with a friend of mine.

Most of the design ideas we got from other blogs like the Sweet Adventures of SugarBelle and Ali Bee's Bakeshop. They are pretty amazing. I just wanted to practice some of the techniques they use to see if I could do it.

Also tried out some leopard prints.
