Wow, it's been a while since I posted anything here. I have been baking but I guess we've been eating everything too fast to get pictures...
But even better than pictures are recipes, so here are a few I've made recently:
chocolate cookies with various chips... white chocolate, peanut butter, milk chocolate, semi sweet... all yummy
Key lime pie - so easy and delicious!
Orange cranberry scones - melt in your mouth good.
I did take some pictures of the cupcake ice cream cones I made for Audrey's birthday back in February.

I tried making these different ways-
You can bake the cupcakes in the cones, set up like the picture above. It was hard to get the right amount of batter into the cones and some of them were not cooked through and deflated as they cooled.
You can bake the cupcakes in muffin tins as you normally would and put the cones upside down on top so the cupcake rises into it. This worked pretty well but the top of the cupcake was shaped like a bottom so it was hard to frost. Also you don't get that "muffin top" texture that really makes a cupcake a cupcake.
In both of the above methods the cone did not taste very good even if the cupcake turned out because it got kind of stale from being baked.
The best looking, tastiest, and the easiest way to do it is to get Jumbo ice cream cones (found mine at Bloom) and then just bake regular cupcakes and stuff them in the cone when they cool. They fit perfectly and it kept the cones from getting chewy or soggy.
My favorite part of this cupcake though was the frosting. I have tried lots of recipes and this one is the best I've had I think. Might have something to do with the heavy cream, I'm not sure.

Merry Christmas!

I made these little frosting santas on parchment paper, then put them on the snow globes after they dried.

It's still Autumn...
December is not quite here yet, so it's not too late to post these cute little Fall cookies, even though my Christmas tree is already up and stockings are hung on the mantel... I'll put up the Christmas cookies next week.
I made these little jars of minis for two of my best friends who both have Autumn birthdays.
This is the apple pie I made for Thanksgiving.
I had some extra pie crust and filling so I made these for my husband and me while the pie was baking. We ate them with ice cream at about 11 o'clock on Thanksgiving eve, so I woke up Thanksgiving morning already feeling like I ate too much. Was that really necessary? No, but it was good.

Happy Halloween!
I've been a little busy so it's been a while since I've made cookies... but my sister-in-law sent a picture of these skeleton cookies from a "Cheryl's" catalog, so I had to try them. How easy with only 2 colors and no flooding! Also a good excuse to try a new chocolate cookie recipe. They turned out pretty yummy. On their own they taste kind of like brownies, and frosted I think they taste like hostess cupcakes. The best part is that they keep their shape perfectly after baking!
I know, some of the them look like alien skeletons because I made the heads too big...

Also, I forgot to post these cookies from a couple months ago (pre-baby)
A photographer in Annapolis asked me to do these for the grand opening of her new studio. I love how the colors turned out.

Happy Birthday Gram!
Gram loves a good cup of coffee, but hates drinking it out of a mug. Whenever she visits any of us, we are always sure to have a pretty little teacup for her to drink from. My Aunt even gave her one for her birthday so she could have a teacup at the beach. She is too cute... I love that lady.

Happy Birthday Gram!
